It’s worth noting that MailMate is now actively trying to prioritize persistent connections based on “historic” activity (this is only important if the total limit on the number of connections is exceeded). This was a major task, but it does not involve a lot of new functionality. The main aim of the first item below has been to make MailMate behave in a robust predictable way when handling a large number of server connnections, in particular, when handling a large number of accounts. New: Numerically based comparisons can handle KB/MB/GB and KiB/MiB/GiB (case insensitively) and floating point numbers, e.g., “Size less or equal to 1 MB” is a valid condition. In all other case, it’s handled alphabetically. New: Conditions handle comparisons numerically when the header/specifier has been declared numeric. If you use this feature, you cannot easily downgrade to an older release of MailMate. New: Conditions (both in smart mailboxes and rules) support “less or equal to” and “more or equal to” in the comparison popup.New: The internal message query system supports numerically comparing with a value. New: Headers/specifiers can now be declared as numeric, that is, they are to be intepreted as numbers when relevant.New: Provides link to release notes when MailMate finds a new release.New: Key binding selector for trusting quoted text to be markdown ( toggleQuotedTextIsMarkdown:). New: Menu item in the composer status bar to explicitly tell MailMate to trust or not trust quoted text to be Markdown.New: Experimental MmBodyTextViewForRawEnabled (an incomplete feature).New: The hidden preference MmAttachmentButtonsOnLeft is back (hasn’t worked since the new message view was introduced). This can be disabled at your own risk: MmAttachmentsCacheImmutableStateDisabled New: Attachments in the cache are now always saved in a locked state. For now, not enabled by default since some servers (Exchange) will trigger it too often. New: Debug variable which can work as a safety catch against both MailMate and server bugs ( MmIMAPSafet圜atchEnabled).New: A stop-gap solution for users with a lot of message list coloring ( MmMessageListColorInversionEnabled).Whenever redirected to an Office365 server, MailMate assumes it’s an Office365 account. New: Added limited support for “autodiscover” in the wizard.New: Crude workaround for users used to Markdown dialects which do not require a space after # for header lines: MmCommonMarkAllowHeadersWithoutSpace.New: Added a selectSignatureWithUUID: key binding selector to allow explicit keyboard shortcuts for specific signatures.New: When using “Show Raw Source”, a built-in simplified variant of Prism is used to syntax highlight.New: When using “Show HTML Source”, a built-in simplified variant of Prism is used to syntax highlight.Language definitions are fetched on demand. New: Prism (JS) is now an alternative to Pygments for syntax highlighting (see Composer preferences pane).New: Symbol panel includes a full list of the available symbols (including a small icon).New: Simple completion of symbol names limited to what is supported on the current macOS (only tested on macOS 12).New: On macOS 11+, the “MailMate > Symbol > Custom…” menu item opens a panel allowing the user to enter SF Symbol names (for now, use the SF Symbol app by Apple to find useful names). This is very similar to how colors are handled. New: On macOS 11+, the Mailbox menu includes a “Symbol” menu to make it easy to change the mailbox symbol used.If you upgraded directly from the current public release (r5672) then you can also review the notes for the previous 3 beta releases (further below). The release notes of each of the intermediate test releases are still available in the release notes of revision 5936. All test release notes since the latest beta release (r5918, September 2022) are reorganized/rewritten in the following. Revision 5937 (Thursday, January 26, 2023) - BETA
